Coffee is an important social glue.
It’s a drink that doesn’t just give you a caffeine kick, it allows you to connect or catch-up with others in a comfy setting. Honestly, I also think it helps also with mental well-being.
There are days I like to get out of the house to grab a coffee, so I don’t rot inside all day. Sometimes I’ll have a quick chat with the barista, run into a familiar face, or simply sit by myself and enjoy the atmosphere.
But the coffee has to be good.
Where To Go in Hilversum?
In this post I’ll focus on locations in Hilversum. I’ll dedicate space to the other locations in future.
1. 30ml
A franchise chain with its own roastery. Alongside great coffee, they also offer matcha and a diverse brunch menu.
During the summer, I like to order a refreshing iced matcha or their iced lavender coffee. Whereas in the colder months, I prefer a cappuccino or a hot matcha.
When it comes to the food, I am absolutely obsessed with their Benedict. Without getting into too much detail, the combination of grilled ham, rocket, hollandaise sauce, and a perfectly poached egg, all served on sourdough bread, is a winning combo in my eyes.
The cafe boasts a spacious and lovely outdoor seating area. Inside it’s perfect for studying or getting some work done on your laptop, and there’s even a dedicated kids’ play corner in the back.
Another plus is the staff, who are always friendly and welcoming. You can either order at the counter or wait for table service. In all the years I’ve been coming here, I’ve always had a good experience.
Bonus: you can also buy their coffee beans to take home!

2. Sees. Coffee & Conceptstore
Moving on from the center of Hilversum, we head over to the vibrant Gijsbrecht area.
I discovered a while ago this really cute and playful spot that feels a bit like a Wonderland.
Here, you can sip on a nice cup of coffee while browsing through with your eyes an interesting selection of bijoux, unique gifts, and trinkets. It’s also the perfect place to pick up some beautiful Hilversum-themed souvenirs!
My absolute favorite order here is a cappuccino and the Griekse Yoghurt, a delicious Greek yogurt served with granola and fresh seasonal fruit. They have plenty of other interesting dishes on the menu.
The staff here is also very nice, bubbly and full of enthusiasm. In fact, they even host creative workshops that look absolutely lovely: take a look here!

3. Your Coffee Gijsbrecht
Staying in the Gijsbrecht area, here is another spot that I find incredibly cute, serving great coffee and a solid menu.
My favourite menu item is their “Creamy Iced Latte,” which is basically an oversized version of an affogato. They also make great smoothie bowls and, personally, I prefer the green one made with spinach, mango, and banana.
Once again, the staff here is super friendly and kind.
I would define this location as gezellig in the truest sense of the word: the place isn’t overly huge, making it perfect to just relax and take it easy. It’s an ideal spot to visit with family or friends, and also very cute for a first date!

4. Your Coffee Kerkstraat
We’re now heading back into the center of Hilversum.
This branch is larger compared to its “little sister” over on Gijsbrecht. But I must say, I really love the interior, it has a modern industrial touch that gives it a unique style.
They make an excellent macchiato and cappuccino here, and I’m a big fan of their baked goods and American pancakes.
I’ve never been a huge apple pie enthusiast, but here they make a delicious “warme appeltaart.”
I found the staff to be both professional and approachable.
Be sure to take advantage of their spacious outdoor seating area in the summer. You have one side that catches plenty of sunshine and another that stays nice and shady.
Address: Kerkstraat 38A
5. Lunchroom De Koffiebranderij
Tucked away in the heart of Hilversum lies this pearl.
You’ve probably walked right past it many times without even noticing it. But trust me, this place deserves a visit.
The optical illusion here is amazing, very much like Mary Poppins’ bag. From the outside, you barely notice it, but once you step inside, the cafe opens up into a spacious venue with a beautiful garden area.
Everywhere you look, there are coffee-themed decorations, and as you can guess from the name, they also roast and sell their own coffee beans.
They won me over with their iced coffee, which comes with a cute espresso-infused iced teddy bear! I am also a big fan of their carpaccio salad.
The all-female staff always greets you with a smile and they are incredibly easy to chat with. Plus, they have a dedicated play corner for kids, making it an ideal spot for families too.
Address: Kerkstraat 100
6. Lennox
Guys, how cute is this place?
Every single dish on the menu is bursting with beautiful colours, and the staff’s friendly energy is contagious. I once chatted with one of the team members working in the kitchen, and they explained how they want every single plate to be crafted with genuine care and passion.
I love both the indoor and outdoor spaces here, it’s simple yet elegant all at once.
The coffee is great, but their matcha game is also strong in my opinion.
Once again, you can take full advantage of an outdoor area that offers both a sun-kissed side and a nice, relaxing shady spot!
Address: Kerkbrink 2
In Conclusion
In conclusion to this post, you are always more than welcome to leave your feedback and share suggestions of any places I might have missed.
