Toen ik in het inmiddels verre 2015 naar Nederland verhuisde, had ik echt nog geen flauw idee hoe ik mijn weg moest vinden in de Nederlandse eetcultuur.
Jonge Italianen waren er destijds trouwens nauwelijks in Den Haag. De Italiaanse “community” bestond toen vooral uit landgenoten die in de jaren ’60 waren geëmigreerd en een handjevol specialisten met een familie.

When I arrived in the Netherlands back in 2015, I didn’t have a clue how to navigate the culinary culture here.
At the time, there weren’t many young Italians in The Hague. The Italian “community” was mostly made up of immigrants from the 1960s and niche professionals with families.

Quando sono arrivata nei Paesi Bassi nell’ormai lontano 2015, non avevo alcuna idea su come navigarmi nella cultura culinaria qui.
Di italiani giovani, all’epoca, non ce n’erano molti a Den Haag. La “comunità” italiana era composta da emigrati negli anni ’60 e da professionisti di nicchia con famiglia.
